Hill Criteriums are a pretty brutal form of race. Held over a short 2km circuit with a small hill usually around 500m long, they are a real fitness tester. In a 100km race, as we did in Wuppertal, that 500m climb turns into a real monster. 50 repetitions of anything is tough, especially when it’s a 12% gradient.
